About Boxie:

Dutch artist Boxie van Boxtel has initiated the
"I don’t know retreat," a journey that seeks to explore freedom through complete detachment from materialism and structured life. By discarding all his possessions, including the termination of his art studio lease, Boxie embarks on an inner and physical voyage aimed at answering the question: Is it possible to truly disconnect and be free? His journey begins today in Haarlem, with no fixed plan or destination, as he allows his intuition and feelings to guide him.

Boxie's concept revolves around living spontaneously, without attachments, to discover what it means to live in the present and connect with the world without the burden of materialism. Along the way, he plans to exchange his art, such as murals, for food and shelter, making his work accessible to anyone, regardless of financial standing. His "price philosophy" allows buyers to determine the price in an emotional exchange, reinforcing the importance of connection.

“By sharing creativity, together we can make the world a more beautiful place”

Boxie has embarked on several creative projects rooted in connection and freedom. His "I Don’t Know Retreat" marks a bold journey of self-discovery, where he disconnects from materialism, traveling without plans while creating art in exchange for shelter. This initiative fosters creativity and spontaneity as he explores new ways of living.

Through his Art Mural Exchange, Boxie offers to create custom murals in people’s homes in exchange for accommodation. Each mural is a unique expression, connecting host and artist while leaving behind a lasting piece of art.
